On a chilly (mid-30s temp) night, members of the Hamline men's track and field team warmed up to the occasion at the Bolstorff Invtiational at Macalester College Thursday.
Travis Jacobson and
Chase Duwenhoegger were victorious in the Shot Put and Discus respectively to lead a condensed version of the Pipers to a fifth place team finish among the 17 teams competing.
HU had nine top 10 finishes for a total of 49 points as they continue to prep for the MIAC meet which will be at Klas Field May 12-13.
Jacobson threw 53-5 with Duwenhoegger a close second at 51-11.25 feet in the Shot Put. Duwenhoegger matched his season best with a 153-4 throw in the Discus.
Mitchell Maday (pictured) was eighth in the event with a 138-10 throw (also matching his season high).
In other top 10 efforts, Jacobson placed third and
Ray Culp was sixth (159-08) in the Hammer at 164-4,
Dylan See-Rockers leaped fifth in the High Jump (5-10),
Kyle Mehrhoff was sixth in the 1500 Meters (4:09.71) and
James Logan legged out a ninth place finish in the 5000 Meters (15:19.71).
The Pipers had one more warmup on familiar grounds before the conference soiree. They host the annual Meet of the UnSaintly May 5-6 at Klas Field.
