Gabby Koel took second place in the Shot Put and
Briana Berninghaus was fourth in the 200 Meters to highlight Hamline's women's track/field team's sixth place finish at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the University of St. Thomas Saturday. Koel, a senior, threw 39-6.50, two feet behind the first place finisher. Jessie Jueneman and
Miranda Janssen -- both freshmen -- placed seventh and eighth in the same event.
Berninghaus, also a freshman, ran a speedy 26.01 -- a school record-- in the 200 Meters. HU also got points from a pair of fifth place relay teams. The 200 quartet of
Gabrielle Brown,
Izzy Shafer,
Mikayla Hensch and Berninghaus ran 1:47.33 in the 4 x 200 and the foursome of Shafer,
Kristy Dellwo,
Abigail Van Goethem and
Marisa Fiecke closed in at 4:07.50 in the 4 x 400 race. Van Goethem also earned HU a point with an eighth place finish in the Long Jump (16-8/75).
As a team, Hamline totaled 67.33 points.
