Pipers Claim Three of Top Five Shot Put Spots at MIAC Indoor TF Meet

2/25/2017 6:07:00 PM

Chase Duwenhoegger led the way with Eric Dols and Travis Jacobson close behind. The Pipers' All-American trio went 1-2-5 finish in the Shot Put to lead Hamline's men's team to a fifth place finish at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Meet held at the University of St. Thomas.

Duwenhoegger (pictured) threw 55-0 in the finals -- the same distance he went in the prelims -- edge out Dols, who threw 53-10.50. Jacobson went 50-11. HU head coach Paul Schmaedeke thinks that will be good enough to get him into the field for the NCAA D-III meet. On the track, Isaac Krause was fourth in the 600 Meters in 1:22.16. The 4  x 200 relay team of Jordan Lein, Nathan Huss, Matt Pratt and Jordan Grier was fourth and the 4 x 400 entity of Thane Widmer, Grier, Krause, and Sam Gatton placed fifth in their race.

As a team, Hamline scored 63 points.
