The MIAC Indoor Track/Field meet is still over a month away but several Pipers are rounding into form.
Travis Jacobson led a 1-2-3-4-5 HU finish in the Shot Put and
Isaac Krause sprinted to victory in the 800 Meters Saturday at the Falcon Winter Classic in River Falls, Wis.
Jacobson, a junior, threw 53-1 3/4. He was followed by
Eric Dols (51-1), Chase Duwenheogger (49-3 3/4),
Ray Culp (49-3) and
Mitchell Maday (46-4). Dols also took second in the Weight Throw with a 52-9 1/2 effort. Culp was fourth (49-3) in the same event.
On the track, Krause, a senior, won a tight race in 1:58.33. HU also got top five efforts from
Rex Gould and
Sam Gatton, who came in second and fourth respectively in the 55 Meter Hurdles,
Thane Widmer and
Jordan Grier who went 4-5 in the 55 Meters;
Sam Yankey, who placed fourth in the 200 Meters and
Matt Pratt, who finished likewise in the 400 Meters. Hamline's team total of 102 points placed them second in a six team field.
