Saulsberry Two-Fer Leads WTF Effort at MIAC Meet

5/14/2016 8:41:00 PM

Carolyn Saulsberry went out in style at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Meet at Clemens Stadium Saturday.  The senior won the Triple Jump and the 100 Meter Hurdles and helped get points in a pair of relay races.

The Minneapolis, Minn.  native flew 37-1 3/4 to claim the Triple Jump crown for the second year in a row. She then came back to do likewise in the 100 Hurdles, blistering the field in a school record 14.16 seconds, just .03 off the meet record.  It was the second day in a row she set a school standard. She did so Friday with a 17-11 Long Jump.

Saulsberry teamed up with Gabrielle Brown, Mikayla Hensch, Izzy Shafer and Brown for a fourth place finish in the 4 x 100 Relay. She also teamed with Kristy Dellwo, Marissa Fiecke and Shafer for an eighth place effort in the 4 x 400 Relay.

Brown, a freshman, gave the Pipers points for her fifth place finish in the 100 Hurdles. Fiecke placed sixth and Shafer came in eighth in the 400 Meters. HU also received eighth place finishes from Madeline Dopp in the 3000 Steeplechase and Ivannie Robertson in the Shot Put.

Hamline finished eighth overall with 56 points in the two-day meet.
