The young Hamline women's cross country team continued to show its improvement, finishing in eighth place at the MIAC meet held Saturday at Como Golf Course in St. Paul. The Pipers' final score of 223 points showed a 50-point improvement from the year before. HU also vaulted up two places in the final standings. That's a nifty accomplishment for a team whose top four scorers are sophomores and the fifth one is a junior.
Madeline Dopp showed the way again Saturday, placing 36th on the 6K course in a time of 24:25.4. She was followed closely by
Meg Griffin (39th, 24:29.1).
Holly Hankins was 52nd (24:43.9) with
Kathleen Miles placing 70th (25:06.1) and
Mariah Gallagher the fifth finisher in 76th place at 25:16.7.
Hamline will now turn its sights to the Fall Finale at St. John's on Friday, November 4. That is a prelim of sorts for the NCAA Division III Central Regional in Northfield on Saturday, November 12.
