They didn't keep team scores Saturday at the Hamline Invite. But the Piper women's team still made a big impression on the charts.Â
Hamline had several personal bests in a solid effort on a sunny day at Klas Field.Â
Jessica Putland had the only clear win of the day, throwing the Hammer 153-09, the second best throw this year by a MIACer. Several other Pipers recorded season bests. They includedÂ
Izzy Shafer, who was fourth in the 100 Meters and fifth in the 200 in her best times of the season;Â
Carolyn Saulsberry, who was second behind a U-Minnesota competitor in the 100 Hurdles;
Sara Nester, who had a fourth place effort in the Triple Jump andÂ
Jerri Koltveit, who had a season best 128-01 as part of a seventh place finish in the Discus.Â
In addition, the 4 x 400 relay team of
Brianna Baker, Megan Culp, Abby Cyr andÂ
Kristy Dellwo took third place with a 4:12.3 clocking.
