Hamline's gymnastics team saved their best performance for last. The Pipers scored a season high 187.100 points and finished fifth at the WIAC Championships/NCGA West Regional held at Hutton Arena Sunday.
Alexa Vorderbruggen had the top individual finish with a tie for fourth place in the Floor Exercise. The Champlin, Minn. freshman scored 9.675 to deadlock with a pair of UW-La Crosse entries.
Sela Fadness was eighth in the same event with a 9.625 score.
Alexis Nault had the Pipers' only other Top Ten finish, coming in eighth on the Vault (9.525).
Jacklyn Clement was 11th on the Balance Beam (9.450) and Nault was the top HU finisher on the Uneven Parallel Bars (9.550).
UW-Whitewater won the meet with 191.750 points. UW-La Crosse was next at 190.875. UW-Stout was third at 187.825 with Winona State a close fourth (187.675). HU was ahead of UW-Eau Claire 9184.475), UW-Oshkosh (181.625) and Gustavus (180.025).
