It was a day to look ahead as the Hamline men's cross country team sent four freshmen to the post for the annual Fall Finale in Collegeville Friday. And HU coach Paul Schmaedeke had to like what he saw.

Freshman Chris Covert (pictured) was the top HU finisher, coming 21st with a 27:57 clocking for the 8K course. Chris Lagergren, a senior was 30th (28:52) followed by frosh Alexander Ozark, who was 36th (29:11). Patrick Woods was 56th (31:30). 

The Pipers finished fourth overall with 88 points. Hamline returns to action next weekend when they will compete at the NCAA Central Regional in Pella, Iowa
