HU Gymnasts Take Three of Five Individual Titles

They won the battle but fell a little short in the war.

Hamline won three of the five individual titles up forn grabs Friday night in their gymnastics meet against UW-Stout. But the Blue Devils' depth lifted them to a 182.325-180.425 decision at Hutton Arena.

Kambria Blakely took top honors in the Vault and Floor Exercise and Courtney Benson won the All-Around crown to pace the Pipers. Blakely's 9.6 on the Vault won the event by just 0.25 points. 

Her margin was a bit wide in the Floor Exercise as her 9.575 score was 0.5 better than the runnerup. Benson finished third in the Floor and fourth in the other three events for an overall score of 37.150. 

Briana Bridgeford ( had a good night. She was the top HU performer on the Uneven Parallel Bars with a 9.000 score. She also came in a close fourth in the Floor Exercise (9.300). Jacklyn Clement (pictured) tied for fifth in the vault (9.325). Blakely also had a fifth on the Balance Beam (8.850).
