Nearly a month after her season ended, HU sophomore
Jordan Sammons (in red jersey taking the center jump at St. Thomas) still is drawing laudatory scrutiny for her basketball exploits.
The Burnsville, Minn. native was named to the d3hoops.com West Region second team announced today. The team is voted by various Sports Information Directors.
Sammons was a presence on both ends of the court as the Pipers came back from an 0-5 start for a 14-12 overall mark and a tie for fifth place in the MIAC. She was second in the conference in rebounds per game (8.3) and steals (3.15) and fourth in points (14.9).
A tireless bulldog on the floor, she ranked second to Pilgrim in minutes played (30.1). Despite that fact, she only fouled out once all year.
When she was named to the All-MIAC team (along with teammate
Steph Pilgrim, who led the league in scoring), it marked her second time on a post-season list this sports season. She also earned a place on the All-MIAC soccer team.
