Courtney Benson is making this a happy habit. The junior from Winona, Minn. collected her third straight All-Around title to help the Pipers finish second to Winona State in a Triangular meet at Walker Field House Saturday night.
Benson totaled 36.600, winning the Floor Exercise in the process. Hamline finished the night with 175.250 points. That was second to the Warriors, who scored 180.075 but solidly ahead of Gustavus Adolphus' total of 171.950.
Benson's 9.425 point total in the Floor Exercise was .3 better than her competition. She took second in the Balance Beam (9.425) and third on the Uneven Parallel Bars (9.050).
Kambria Blakely (9.225) and
Jackie Clement (9.000) went 2-3 on the Vault. Blakely was third in Floor Exercise (9.100) and
Erika Degnan (9.025) was fourth in the same event.
The Pipers travel to Utah next weekend for a triangular meet with Utah State and Southern Utah.
